Quran search
Search by verse key or topic. Ranked ayat and editorial topics — not a keyword-only chatbot.
Searching the text and finding the ayah
Search runs across the Quran by surah name, by verse key such as 2:255, and by words in the translation, and takes you to the ayah in the reader with its Arabic, translation and study tools rather than to a list of fragments you then have to place.
Searching a translation is not searching the Quran
Worth being clear about: a word search over an English translation finds the translator’s choices, not the Quran’s vocabulary. Two ayat using the same Arabic root can be rendered with different English words, and the same English word can stand for different roots. For vocabulary, the root pages follow the Arabic instead.
When you do not know the words
If you half-remember a recitation but not the wording, the voice search finds an ayah from what you recite rather than from what you can spell, which is usually how a half-remembered verse is actually recalled.
